Maya Man: Too Good to Be True: Algorithms, Authenticity, and the Performance of Self Online

In her artist talk, Maya Man discussed projects that use algorithms, media consumption, collection, and reproduction to examine the construction of identity online. Drawing from works including FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT, I’m Feeling Lucky, and Notes, Man considered hyper-feminine internet aesthetics, astrology, algorithmic culture, and the absurdities of performing authenticity within contemporary digital life.

Maisa Imamović: To Forge or Not to Forge: Coding Workshop

In this introductory web coding workshop, Maisa Imamović invited participants to consider questions of legitimacy, access, and digital authorship through the speculative premise of forging online evidence for a U.S. O-1B visa application. Participants learned to recreate web pages from major online platforms while reflecting on privilege, institutional validation, and what Imamović describes as “urgent publishing.”
