Press Statement:
How we think about home is far from fixed: home sweet home; home is where the heart is; homebody; home away from home. All these quotidian sayings allude to the home as a metaphor. Turning to these colloquialisms, the works surveyed in Almost Home dwell in the interstitial ideas of a home we regularly bypass and overlook. Building on these ideas, the exhibition reflects different strands of a home through geography, built and virtual space, domesticity, and memory.
